Palestinian-American Teenager Freed After Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian adolescent after completing nine months in imprisonment by Israel without charge has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.

Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.

Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he requires following exposure to Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances for months."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

{"American leadership has no higher priority to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to the state department and President Donald Trump, demanding more be done to release him.

The father, with four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or communicated with his son following the detention, learning information solely about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed without charge within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities including killings.

Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics.

Many have never been charged while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, document cases involving abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

The dual national youth per medical officials died from beating by Israeli settlers during a confrontation during summer.

Initially, the Israeli military said officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian had been killed.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated at their family's ice cream business from Tampa.

No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We demand United States leadership to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
