Tuchel Criticizes Home Fan Atmosphere Following Comfortable Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel shared his disappointment that the Three Lions team did not enjoy stronger support from the home fans during their decisive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday night.

The manager was pleased to see his side showcase their good form, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the first 20 minutes effectively ending the game. But, he was not content with the energy at the iconic venue.

“We had one and a half sessions to prepare against a well-trained team and we excelled,” the coach commented. “We could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We couldn’t score the additional ones. The stadium was silent. There was no support back from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you provide in the first quarter? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s disappointing because the squad deserved better encouragement today.”

“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a derby. I would have wished for a greater support in periods where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but it is what it is and that is it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Performance

Away from potentially starting a dispute among fans, the manager also created controversy by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. However the decision was backed up by Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He is what he is,” the head coach noted. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his spot.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Loss

Craig Bellamy hopes that Wales, who face a strong Belgian side in a important World Cup qualifier on next week, take lessons from their poor performance in the opening period.

“This is why I wanted this match,” the manager stated. “I wanted to assess our standing. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? Today gives me drive.”

Injury Concern for Striker

Ollie Watkins was substituted at the break after hitting a post and will be a doubt when England face their next opponents in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on next week.
